I know you all love Phillip Lim. And I do too. It’s just that sometimes the runway shows can just look like a lot of clothes. It has never particularly held together as a collection – until today. This one had a really strong point of view and was also full of sure fire winners on the shop floor.
It kicked off with a series of red tailored suits (another big NY 2010 summer colour) softened up with rolled-down waistbands on the skirts and trousers. Then we moved into the nudes: a spectrum of flesh tones from camel to cream worked in collarless jackets and leathers.

The finale was a series of gorgeous drop-waisted dresses decorated with pleated organza wave and swirls. It was strong, fabulously feminine and irresistibly pretty.
Just what was needed to divert the photographers attention away from NYC’s emerging new stylish crew Gossip Girl’s Leighton Meester and Alexa Chung, who sent them into a frenzy when taking their front row seats. No doubt their shopping lists were long…
