NYFW S/S 10 report: DVF

15 September 2009

Diane von Furstenberg's woman has always been the nomad and the dreamer. This season's muse is no exception, especially if the nomad 'travels' by private jet and 'dreams' of sipping cocktails at Mediterranean poolside parties. So you won't be wearing much of this to work next Spring but if you're planning on playing the Bohemian Global Goddess come June, July or August then look no further. Abstract and animal prints in eye-popping colour were interspersed with gorgeously handcrafted macrame dresses in varying lengths whilst flashes of metallics and neons completed the look.

Diane von Furstenberg always manages to bring her inimitable style and heyday glamour to her collection and along with her talented, young co-conspirator, Nathan Jenden, she creates fabulous, flirtatious clothes that are as relevant today as they ever were. Not a surprise then, to see mega-stylists like Rachel Zoe and Patricia Field sitting in the front row along with Blake Lively and Estelle. Zoe was scanning the runway for anything A-list-client-worthy while Field, a few seats away, was no doubt shopping wardrobe options for Sex and the City 2.
