Show Report: Ohne Titel

14 September 2009

Flora Gill and Alexa Adams are beginning to gain quite a following in New York with their architectural, innovative yet feminine take on sporty-chic. The presence of American Vogue’s Hamish Bowles and Visionaire Magazine’s Cecilia Dean in the front row is testament to that. The design duo had taken their inspiration from the 'lush textures and bold colours in Egyptian reliefs and sculptures' this season, but there was nothing archaic about either their palette or aesthetic as they sent a tightly edited and beautifully constructed collection down the runway. Strong, modern, yet ultra-feminine, their innovative tailoring and construction is outstanding.

Joan Miro-esque graphic pieces lead into a series of sophisticated tone on tone wearables followed by some gorgeous monochromatic, asymmetrically draped dresses with ostrich feather trim. Cesare Paciotti supplied an inimitable twist with gladiator sandals in varying heights (from ankle length all the way through to thigh high), and the collection truly was a wardrobe for a futurist Cleopatra.
