The sun finally came out in New York this morning and with it came the bloom of eye catching abstract florals at DKNY. They began as cheery, playful chalkboard scribbles and developed into sequin encrusted blossoms that screamed summer glamour. This was a collection that could easily take you from a rooftop garden party to an underground 'discoteca' - vintage Michael Jackson playing during the finale was surely no coincidence.
It was refreshing to see fun, flirtatious colour for Donna Karan's 'younger' line when most of the similar fare at this price point and for this customer played it safe with the neutral and the monochromatic. Better still were the two-tone strappy sandals in a variety of colour combos. Although DKNY's iconic 10 storey 'Statue of Liberty' wall fresco at Broadway and Houston St. was finally painted over this summer, it looks like the label is here to stay.
