Ultimately Miu Miu

13 March 2009

Miu Miu closed Paris Fashion Week with a show that was appropriately and chicly French. With Milla Jovovich and Eva Mendes in the front row, these were clothes that evoked old-school glamour as much as the actresses do. Amazing coat dresses in camel, dusty pink and a printed wool, opened the show and set the mood for the smart and sophisticated collection that followed. Miuccia showed heavy jackets and complementing pencil skirts in upholstery fabrics in reds and greys, each draped with a hint of fur. The palette was gorgeously muted, with highlights of turquoise and bordeaux. Transparent chiffon separates revealed beautiful neutral coloured underwear below - equally as desirable as the outerwear, of course! But it was the accessories that diverted the eye - gorgeous shoes and boots edged in gold, that thankfully didn't have ridiculously high heels, and heavily jewelled socks that are the most fabulous show-stopping socks we've ever seen! This was pure elegance and the perfect note to leave Paris on. Look below for more of our favourite looks from the show.
