It is always summer at the house of Chloé, such is the fresh feeling of youth and optimism. Their A/W '09 collection was no different. Models practically bounced down the catwalk with a spring in their step, shiny hair swinging healthily at their shoulders – and they had all the sass required to wear the collection well. Gorgeous blanket coats, belted duffel coats (glad they're back for another winter), silk shirting and great khakis, in a grey, mustard, dusty-pink (super-flattering on all skin tones), black and white colour palette. Two jumpsuits – one in butter-soft putty suede, the other in cotton drill – had the trendy young things in the audience scribbling down personal orders! The black satin shirt with harem pants had a similar effect. Trousers were high-waisted with a balloon shape, in rich velvet, satin, wool and jersey, while we predict the boyfriend jackets will be a sell-out. And of course, this being the home of the 'It'er than 'It' Paddington bag, there were stand-out accessories, including an over-sized leather shopper with zips on the sides, a powder-blue evening bag with short chain handle (very on trend), over-the-knee 'buccaneer' boots and jhillie shoes (ballet pumps with laces). There was something for everyone in this collection, regardless of age, and regardless of whether you want to splash out on a singular key investment piece, or revamp your whole wardrobe (we should be so lucky!). Look below for more pictures from the collection.
