Mulberry’s new names to know

10 March 2009

You know the drill. Every season Mulberry produces a stellar collection of bags and shoes (we'll come onto the clothes) with the cutest names to make it a. easy to remember on your mental shopping list and b. inspire love similar to that you might feel about your best friend/cat/puppy (delete as appropriate here). For Spring/Summer we're all about the Mitzy - the hobo bag, in hot coral pink. And we've just seen the Autumn/Winter collection in a pit-stop in between shows in Paris to get the low-down on the new names to know. And let us tell you, it's all about the shoes. Introducing the Bayswater knee boot, a sexy, slouchy pull-on boot that makes us wish the sun wasn't about to come out, and the Ena, a buckle boot in shearling we've already fallen in love with.

In fact, Mulberry is on fire. They have just posted positive profits and are on the brink of opening stores in Dubai and Kuwait. And their A/W '09 clothing collection is to die for. In her second season as Creative Director Emma Hill has explored Mulberry's dark side. It's an inky palette with splashes of electric colour, such as bright orange, fuchsia, and emerald. Check out specifically the 'spooky trees' and the ‘rotten apple' print dress, on which hand drawn and inked illustrations create beautiful prints. We also adore those beetles and bugs we've spied nibbling the apples...
