You only had to look at the maniacal reaction from photographers to Elizabeth Hurley turning up at the Cavalli show in Milan last week to realise this season's fashion circuit has been star-starved, rather than studded. So praise be for Paris Fashion Week! The fashion capital which brings together everyone from Hollywood big hitters (Charlize and Eva Green shopping for red carpet gowns at Dior) to fashion offspring (how cool is Charlotte Casiraghi?) and the musos Leigh Lezark and Beth Ditto. Our personal favourite appearance so far has been the cheeky New York ‘It' girl Cory Kennedy and Peaches Geldof at the Karl Lagerfeld dressed in a homage to the designer himself and his muse Lady Amanda Harlech. But here's the rest of the best overheard on the front row moments this weekend...
Beth Ditto sauntered in super late and gave Mary McCartney an enormous hug before taking her seat. The catwalk paps were not impressed by the disruption but we didn't mind one bit - she looked fab in a navy body-con dress. Throughout the show, Sir Paul was looking uber proud of his daughter's collection, pointing out his fave pieces to his BEA-utiful girlfriend, Nancy Shevell, and taking pictures on his phone. Cute!
It was a very civilised affair at Loewe what with Beth Ditto and Giles Deacon munching on mini profiteroles and sipping on champagne. But Carmen Kass let the side down – if only she’d taken some tips from her fellow models and done something about those hairy legs! Really, what would La Wintour say?!
Peaches Geldof tweeted as soon as she hit Paris Fashion Week. Apparently she ate steak (medium/rare) and macaroons before the Jeremy Scott show. Who knew? Beth Ditto was out on the FROW again too, bemused by the Longchamp bag on her seat. Anna Wintour apparently hasn't been impressed with her Parisian jaunt, but Suzy Menkes was taking her picture. Bless!
