WATCH: Rick Owens' Twenty-First Century Snow Queens

06 March 2009

Uber Rick fans were happy standing in their hundreds to see his latest collection in Paris yesterday. And they wouldn't have been disappointed by their guru. It was classic Rick, and as usual he played with the proportions of leather and jersey. There were pointy and dropped shoulders galore, and some amazing leather cape coata - our favourite Jessica Stam wearing a metallic cut away leather version. White leather boots flapped around models' legs as they walked the catwalk. Feathers on headbands bounced with the movment, like flyaway gray hair and they looked like ethereal snow queens (or snow army when they all bounced out together at the end) - strong with bags of attitude, yet totally approachable! This was something only Rick could have achieved...
