Nope, we can’t believe it either. The Spring/Summer 2010 shows are upon us already, and while our fashion team are making their way over the Atlantic as we speak, yesterday saw a few familiar names hit the New York runways. The City’s Whitney Port showed her Whitney Eve line for the first time at the tents, with sky-high hemlines and frothy pastel-coloured chiffon making waves on the front row. “My inspiration was sort of, you know, playing off the spring and kind of Alice in Wonderland goes to a cocktail party,” she said. “Very fantasy-driven but also fun and flirty, having a good time”. Awww.
But Whitters wasn’t the only star showcasing her collection. Fashionista Gwen Stefani presented her Spring/Summer L.A.M.B. line in a much more “real” style, with sculpted blazers, pleated print dresses, and signature denim...
... And the Hollywood glitterati came out in force for Max Azria’s BCBG show, including Amanda Bynes, Amerie and Solange Knowles. The designer showcased a truly wearable collection, with bandage style body-con dresses in a mouth-wateringly fresh colour palette and asymmetric printed pieces sashaying down the runway to much delight.
Check back first thing on Monday for behind the scenes pictures and reports from the shows, and follow us on Twitter here over the weekend. Let the games begin!
