For American preppy staples, you need look no further than Tommy Hilfiger. On a New York runway, it's as glossy and perfect as the American dream. From the impeccable pea coat to the khaki pant you've always been looking for; from the dreamy jersey dress to the rugged biker jacket, it's all in very good taste. You can imagine that masters and mistresses of the universe wear clothes like these and they never spill coffee on their crisp white shirts or have mud on their shoes. I can't help thinking they'd lose some of the gloss in transit across the Atlantic, but then these are clothes that have become global classics. They speak a universal language. This is not so much a style statement as a way of life. And Tommy Land looks like a place where nothing bad ever happens.
WHAT WE LOVED:
The leather jacket lined in sheepskin.

The A-line pea coat with gold buttons.

The long jersey dresses.

The skinny khaki pants with flat mannish shoes.

The camel cashmere worn with faded denim.
