More people seemed to have got the message this time that this season it's all about punctuality at Marc Jacobs. There was almost a capacity crowd for the very prompt start of the Marc by Marc Jacobs show, even though there were a lot of red faces and heaving bosoms in the front row. Regardless of how many lost hours we have notched up in the past waiting for Marc Jacobs, we now know that New York's hottest designer runs his schedule like Swiss railways. Which means that, with only a one-hour break all day – between his show and the one before it – you lunch, you lose. And with a distinct lack of stars on the front row again, all concentration was on the collection. This season it was all very New England college kid: tartan wools, pull-on felt hats, baggy flannel pants tucked into sheepskin-lined waterproof boots, huge knitted shawls and girlishly prim coats. See the five things we loved most below, and if that's not enough for you, watch a video of the show here.
WHAT WE LOVED....
1) The military surplus coloured flannels: khaki track pants, grey all-in-ones and brown shirt dresses.
2) The pull on hats.
3) The elephant cord shirt dress and knitted tights.
4) The wool fringe tartan cape coat.
5) The emerald taffeta prom dress and woolly tights.
