On the street the rain was biblical. But inside the Mathew Williamson show it was all neon brights and floral prints. The signature Williamson bohemian has toughened up and got a more tailored edge. Cropped jackets with sculpted cap sleeves went with skinny pants with ribbed and zipped details. Multi beaded cardigan tops added slouchy luxury to white jeans. And in keeping with a running New York theme, dominatrix harnesses picked out in jet beaded embroidery anchored printed chiffon maxi evening dresses. Shoes were a highlight again. Mathew's were high heeled, hi tech with a strong sporty influence and came in every fluorescent colour you can imagine. All brilliant window display material for when his first NY store opens next year. This season, the designer will show his last collection as creative director of Pucci, stepping down in order to concentrate on his own line. Expect more shops, a bigger accessories line and a jewellery collection.
