GAP glam up for S/S '09

 default

There's one show we always make a point to watch out for in NY. Nope, not for it's star-studded front row or fantastical creations but just because we know that whatever we see there we'll definitely be wearing come next Spring. Yep, it's high-street faithful GAP. So what's in store for us next season? Well judging by Saturday's show it's time to reluxe your wardrobe. Pastel coloured silks have replaced their trademark khaki cotton whilst coloured flares and skinny trousers were plentiful. Also of note were the crisp white sun dresses teamed with tailored masculine blazers - the perfect solutions for summer in the city. And for those of you (us) that went mad for the Pierre Hardy Design Editions leather wedge sandals this year, rest assured they're back but in a revamped suede next year. Hurrah! The new look's all thanks to Patrick Robinson who joined GAP as Head designer last year. He's glammed up GAP's basics whilst remaining faithful to the brand. And though he hasn't necessarily driven foot-fall into stores there, based on what we've just seen we're desperate to get the GAP drop. Unfortunately we'll have to wait until at least February. But we thought you'd appreciate the early heads up....
