Shimmer and stripes at D&G

default

Maybe it's symptomatic of the Anglomania craze sweeping fash-land, perhaps it's representative of the US Presidential election fever or maybe D&G's red, white and blue theme was just evidence of the endurance of that glamorous era for fashion - the Riviera in the late 1970s/early 1980s. Certainly the high-waisted sailor pants and wide-legged palazzo trousers teamed with skinny tricolour long sleeved tees gave the show a young, fresh and optimistic feel. Set to a Grace Jones La Vie En Rose soundtrack - the show's finale full of gold, silver lame set with long chiffon skirts - it had the fashion editor's reminiscing about our ‘80s disco dancing days. And coming out into the Milan beaming sunshine it made us want to be back in summer clothes already - at a time of course we've just made the fashion switch into A/W!
