It wasn't hard to see where Roberto Cavalli's inspiration for the S/S '09 show had come from. The sounds of sea blared out from the sound system, moody black and white beach images were projected on huge screens and we literally had the sand between our toes as the floor was covered in sand. As for the collection? It was just as hot! The colours - fuchsia, lime, purple and yellow - shone. Leopard print livened up denim jeans and chiffon/silk dresses, we loved the fab peg trousers in bright prints, and there were lots of bright leather in jackets with sharp shoulders and second-skin ‘80s style mini-dresses and little ra-ra skirts. As if you needed any more hints, starfish motifs jangled off the bead-cluster necklaces and swimsuits came slashed in black and leopard print too. And what else would you need for a summer's day on the beach? Roberto Cavalli coke of course! How divine is this branded coke machine that keeping us refreshed on the front row?!
PS - judging by Just Cavalli long-line leather gilets over silk print dresses are hanging around for S/S '09 too.
