Our charity shop is OPEN - but we STILL need your clothes!

Mary Portas Mary Portas

We've spent two weeks gathering donations from designers, high-street retailers, fashion insiders, a few of our favourite stars and of course YOU - and this morning Mary's Living and Giving pop-up charity shop finally opened it's doors! Shoppers eager to get their hands on bargains and hand in their own donations queued for half an hour before, eyeing up their target purchases in the window. Then Mary Portas joined by the lovely model Tolula styled in a Sophia Kokosalaki gold dress and Stella McCartney coat from the shop opened the doors to shopping mayhem. £150 Manolos were grabbed from the window, an £80 Mulberry bag was swiped from the shelves and rails were rifled through to seek out that £35 bargain of a leather jacket from Oasis. Within an hour we'd raised an amazing £3,600 for Save the Children, MIND and Trees for Cities. One shopper, Mirella, traded in a pair of her old Sergio Rossi shoes for a Roland Mouret dress (£150), a DVF denim jacket (£25) and a French Connection top £8) - it's shopping neutral!

And the shopping is still going on now and for another THREE weeks at the Village at Westfield! Coming next week - we'll tell you exactly when each day here on GraziaDaily – are shoes from Mulberry, clothes from ASOS and GAP, a Luella bag and don't forget to keep bidding for the amazing Burberry bag giveaway! But the success of Mary's Living and Giving shop depends on YOU. We desperately need your donations to make this work. We've all got old clothes hanging around in your wardrobe that we're never going to wear again - high street, designer and vintage - so put them to good use. Please donate in any of the ways below or, even better, come down to our shop with your donations so you can walk away with something new as a reward for being so virtuous! The Grazia staff will be there every day for the next three weeks too, so we'll be on hand for fashion advice... See you there!

  • How about giving us a daily update about what designer goodies are in the shop? That way we'd know if the lovely Mulberry shoes we had an eye on or whatever have already gone....

  • Just got back from a girlie shopping trip to Westfield, with my best purchases of the day from....Mary's shop! Love my Burberry shirt and waiting for my daughter to come home to try on her New Look jacket. Just hope you can sell my Gap platform sandals (c'mon girls - go get them cos they will be a brilliant buy for one of you).
Bravo Mary. We're already dedicated charity shop shoppers but your one is fab and I hope I can get up there again b4 it closes.

  • I spent a good hour on Sunday rummaging through the rails in this emporium of splendor to find a vintage Pucci pair of sandals (with little wear) that had been donated by Tess Daly, and a DVF suede skirt for a bargain price, that hadn't even been worn... Glad now that I donated a ladie's Armani trouser suit ... but gutted I didn't realise I could have traded it in ... great work Ms Portas, but don't raise the profile too much as us bargainistas won't benefit from other people's left-overs if the prices are too high!!
