Trust Luella Bartley to know how to cheer up the fashion crowd who arrived at The Flower Cellars for her A/W '09 show this morning tired and perhaps a little jaded on Day Four of London Fashion Week. Old-fashioned tea ladies in aprons pushed around trolleys packed with shortbread biscuits and tea in china cups. Twinkly music played in the background. But it was all change as the models, including Pixie Geldof, stomped onto the catwalk. Pumping rock music blared out to accompany the 24 punked-up girls, each with a totally individual hair and make-up look. There were aristocratic over the top dos, super-mega-high quiffs, Pippy Longstocking style plaits suspended in the air, full-on wigs and coloured hair pieces. Special note too for the little children's hair-slides attached in the back. The clothes were beautiful too: all the classic Luella trademarks – pony club kids gone rock, military and perfect prom dresses but with an edge. There was the most perfect pair of jodhpurs with inserts made from different fabrics, great military details – epaulettes, brass buttons – zip detailing at the bottom of cropped trousers and delicious accessories. We're already coveting the supersize metallic clutch and over-the-shoulder bag. As for the FROW: Peaches made her first LFW appearance alongside dad Sir Bob to cheer on Pixie Geldof, who walked with confidence.
