Luella, thank you for staying in London for another season! She just gets better every time. This morning's show - set in the Crystal Palace next to the beautiful Serpentine - was all 1950s Teddy girls go Molly Ringwald in Sixteen Candles! Hmm, by that we mean sugary-sweet colours (pink and lilac are fast becoming the shades of the season) with a dark side. Think pastel brocade skirts and soft grey jersey with starchy tulle poking through every seam... skinny cigarette pants and cropped structured jackets rendered in candy-striped soft jockey silks. We're glad to say the fashion crowd broke out in spontaneous whooping when Luella came to take her bow. Let's hope it persuades her London's where she belongs. Here are the five things we absolutely adored...
The orange (and pink) gloves.
Jockey silk jackets.
Jumbo hair jewels and bows fixed on plaits.
Two-tone forties style shoes.
Exquisite colour combinations - vibrant oranges with delicate mauves.
A new spin on Luella's classic pretty-prom dress.
