From the Beckhams in black leather to Elton and David in eye-watering Versace and Justin and Britney (*wistful*) in top-to-toe denim, we’re all aware that matchy-matchy dressing is essential for a couple establishing themselves as major players on the global stage. And look! The latest twosome to get in on the act is our very own K-Mid and Willykins. HA!

Lovely Kate Middleton and Prince William were spotted earlier this week wearing very similar (obviously cashmere, because why wouldn’t they be) jumpers in a lovely regal shade of purple. The things we love about this are threefold:

1. The preppy popped out white collars are just SO ‘our favourite film is The Lion King, isn’t it Wills?’

2. The fact that both their jeans fit like formal trousers. C’est possible how?

3. The distinct lack-of-a-hangover, in spite of this being the day after Zara Philips' wedding. *wonders if not drinking quite so much Sancerre rose of a weeknight might enable self to also look this fresh-faced.* Nah, it’s probably all in the genes.

So are we about to see Kate and William decamp to LA and establish themselves as a media-savvy global power-couple? (No.) Has Simon Fuller already been sniffing at their door? (Possibly.) Were we just looking for another excuse to write about our favourite people? (You almost certainly know that answer to that last question.) J’adore.
