Remember that infographic that went viral a few months back, showing what happens to your body when you drink a can of a certain fizzy drink? Well a similar diagram claiming to explain how your body reacts to eating one of life's simple fast food pleasures - the Big Mac burger, has been released.

Now, while we don't advocate eating fast food all the time, there are moments - when you're hungover, really tired, or on a motorway and STARVING that nothing but a greasy burger will do.

And while a Big Mac is definitely not the only fast food burger that could be harmful to your body, the infographic does show some interesting (although not entirely surprising) claims, especially given the recent news about the obesity crisis in the UK - and this news about our life expectancy.

The below infographic from fastfoodmenuprice.com has shown how your body is affected in 60 minutes after eating a burger, explaining that the 540 calorie product instantly raises your blood sugar levels to abnormal levels, and triggers your brain's reward system by releasing dopamine. It also details how much sodium and sugar is in the fast food treat - which might be pretty obvious to anyone cautious about ingredients.

However, it's the info about cravings that are interesting - 40 minutes after a fast food burger you're supposed to start craving more food because of the loss of control over your blood sugar caused by the high amounts of high fructose corn syrup in the bun. And the grossest info of all? It can take more three days to fully digest a burger.
