With The Brits looming we take a look back at some of the most memorable moments because when you get rock stars, pop stars and alcohol all in the same room, sparks are bound to fly...

**2012: ADELE VS JAMES CORDEN

**

While there have been a number of casualties in the hosting department (we’ll come to that later) James Corden did a good job when he took up the challenge in 2012. That was until he forced Adele (aka: the biggest winner of the night) off stage mid-way through her acceptance speech. Adele's response? A flick of the finger ‘for the suits’.

**2010: PETER KAY VS LIAM GALLAGHER

**

Rewind a few years to when Peter Kay played host to The Brits in 2010. Unfortunately his candid humour didn’t go down well, especially with Liam Gallagher after the presenter called him a ‘knob head’. Gallagher manageed to swear his way through the speech before throwing his microphone into the crowd. Both of these boys were behaving badly it seems.

**2008: THE OSBOURNES

**

The Osbournes won’t be presenting The Brits again anytime soon after rude language and general bad behaviour meant complaints came flooding in. Sharon even managed to offend Vic Reeves by accusing him of being drunk, a tussle ensued after Sharon took over from him (or tried to take over) by naming the winner of Best Album of the Year. Kelly can only look on in shame at her mother’s behaviour. Eeek.

**1996: JARVIS COCKER STORMS THE STAGE

**

1996 saw Michael Jackson and Jarvis Cocker of Pulp have something of a run in. Cocker ran onto the stage during the middle of Jackson’s ‘Earth Song’ performance and lifted his shirt whilst also pointing his bottom at Jackson. He was arrested and contained in a cell for ‘causing injury to three of the children who were on stage with Michael’. The explanation? Cocker said he was ‘protesting a part of Jackson’s performance where he appeared as a Christ like figure surrounded by children’. Yep, even the King of Pop couldn’t escape a Brit Award drama.

2000

This year saw an interesting turn of events as club DJ Brandon Block appeared on stage as Ronnie Wood and Thora Birch were announcing the winner of Best Soundtrack (Notting Hill by the way). Ronnie wasn’t impressed and proceeded to throw insults at the intoxicated DJ. The two squared up to each other with Wood throwing a glass of water in Block's face. Hmm, it was a classy evening for the two.

1989

This is one of the most infamous hosting atrocities of The Brits: Samantha Fox and Mick Fleetwood. The pair managed to miss their autocues and introduce acts to early or too late. It’s safe to say these two were comedic in a different way to others that have presented the awards show.
