If any man can get the Spice Girls back together again it surely would be David Beckham and as if to prove it was within his super powers he had (almost all) the girls converge in Morocco to celebrate his 40th bday.
Baby, Posh, Sporty and Ginger were only missing Scary Spice Mel B at the bash in Marrakech at the weekend – an event worthy of its own hashtag #DB40, of course.
We assume that Mel couldn’t make it, not that her invite got lost in transit…according to some US reports she was actually busy shooting America's Got Talent.
Victoria Beckham, Geri Halliwell, Melanie Chisholm, and Emma Bunton had Spice Girl stand-in Eva Longoria to help make up the numbers. And Eva was clearly in her element dubbing herself #LatinaSpice she instagrammed the reunion with the caption: ‘I'm the new Spice Girl! While Vics posted a snap with the message ‘Spice Girls in Marrakech! #DB40 x vb'
Clearly the girls –also joined by Vic’s good pal Tana Ramsey and model and actress Denise Vasi -had a huge night as Eva posted a snap of them all in their shades at the airport the next day saying: ‘Nothing like a catnap in an airport after a fun night!'
Mel C also tweeted the pic with the caption: ‘Top party for a top fella’
The birthday boy thanked his wife for the bash saying: 'Thanks to my beautiful wife for such an amazing day x,' in an Instagram pic of the couple.
The last time we got to see the Spice Girls performing together was in 2012 for the London Olympics and Queen Elizabeth's Jubilee. There have been rumours they could reunite again soon so here’s hoping said reunion is now in motion.. Nice one Davey B!
Becks shared his birthday with the royal baby Charlotte Elizabeth Diana, singer Lily Allen who turned 30 and designer Donatella Versace who turned 60.
He marked 40 by joining Instagram on Saturday and already has 5 million followers. We expect him to overtake Kim Kardashian and Beyonce, who both have over 30m, by Friday..
