Remember when Nicki Minaj had an epic showdown with Miley Cyrus at the VMAs? She said "And now... back to this b_h that had a lot to say about me in the press. Miley, what’s good?", before mouthing "Don't play with me b_h" after Miley had called out Nicki for her comments about Taylor Swift, saying she was "not too kind" in an interview.

Now Nicki has spoken out about why she decided to make the pair's beef so public in an interview in the New York Times.

"The fact that you feel upset about me speaking on something that affects black women makes me feel like you have some big balls," Minaj told the magazine.

"You're in videos with black men, and you're bringing out black women on your stages, but you don't want to know how black women feel about something that's so important?"

Minaj then suggested Cyrus should have actually been supportive of her tweets.

"Come on, you can't want the good without the bad...If you want to enjoy our culture and our lifestyle, bond with us, dance with us, have fun with us, twerk with us, rap with us, then you should also want to know what affects us, what is bothering us, what we feel is unfair to us. You shouldn't not want to know that."

It was the biggest talking point of the VMA’s, but many people thought the Nicki Minaj/Miley Cyrus onstage spat was staged.

Now a video has been released that suggests actually, the whole thing did really happen.

Miley's family are captured on film in this video reacting to the moment where Nicki said:

"And now... back to this b_h that had a lot to say about me in the press. Miley, what’s good?", before mouthing "Don't play with me b_h."

In short, they look shocked when the incident happened. Awks! Tish, Miley's Mum, appears to mouth "Oh my God" to her husband.
