Why The 'Hun' (Half Bun) Is Trending
The high street collaboration of the year is finally here! Ever since H&M made the announcement that Alexander would be their next collaborator at Coachella festival back in April, fans of Wang's model off duty look have been clamouring to get their mitts on the collection.
Speaking exclusively to Monsieur Wang - currently creative director of both his own brand and Parisian luxury label Balenciaga- Grazia learnt that the man himself has long been a fan of H&M’s stores, ‘I have always shopped at H&M and it was such an honour to be asked to collaborate as the first American brand to join their roster.’
Celebrating 10 years of designer tie ins, this H&M collection notably isn’t just a reworking of catwalk designs at a more accessible price point. ‘I wanted to relook at the nature of collaborations, and to do something different.,’ Alex says, ‘It wanted to design new pieces of performance and sportswear, making good quality pieces with their own design integrity.’

And it's definitely been worth the wait. From foam injected knits to bonded sweaters to a seamless welded parka, the collection provides a proper urban uniform with an elevated aesthetic, that will also actually keep you warm. But you don’t have to take our word for it – queens of street style, Anna dello Russo and RihRih have already stepped out wearing the collection head to toe. ‘I’ve always been a huge fan of Rihanna,’ Alex goes on to explain, ‘I love that she’s not afraid to take risks; she’s a chameleon and surprises you, which is always inspiring.’
While the full on look is great, pretty much every piece will work seamlessly with your favourite jeans/ biker jacket / ankle boots, delete as appropriate. We'd also suggest giving the men's collection a once over - the full length logo sweater is a great alternative to the ladies crop version.

For Alex, the appeal of the collection is ‘not just the desirability of the product, but the way the collaborations become such a worldwide event, making designer fashion so democratic. I cannot wait to see people wearing the Alexander Wang x H&M collection worldwide from the street to the gym to a night out.’
