Why The 'Hun' (Half Bun) Is Trending

For her third official engagement in New Zealand Kate opted for her favourite labels, wearing a blue Alexander McQueen coat. Kate and Wills made a short flight from Wellington to Blenheim, where they took part in a rememberance service, starting a year-long series of events commemorating the First World War.
Kate has opted for Alexander McQueen for many of her most important events (cough, royal wedding), so it's hardly a surprise that she has some custom McQueen in her suitcase. This time she wore a blue custom military coat dress from the Spring Summer 2014 collection, with a belted waist, collar detailing and pleated skirt at the back in wool crepe.

This is a custom piece so copy Kates can't get the exact look, but our friends over at What Kate Wore spotted that it is a variation on the Utility Coat Dress which comes in black and powder blue and is currently available on the Alexander McQueen website and Net A Porter.
As for the accessories Kate opted for a navy suede Stuart Weitzman box clutch, which is available at Russell and Bromley and navy heels. Kate wore a pair of beautiful saphire earrings which perfectly match her sapphire engagement ring that once belonged to the late Princess Diana.
She also paired it with a swishy ponytail - perhaps her locks needed a rest thanks to all that Prince George hair pulling. Kate is travelling with her hairdresser Amanda Cook Tucker who is making sure that she is looking glossy at all times.
That evening Kate attended a State Reception at Government House to unveil a portrait of the Queen, where she wore a custom bespoke black Jenny Packham dress. The sleeved dress which falls below the knee has a personal touch, as the shoulder features silver embroidered ferns which is New Zealand's national emblem.

The Duchess has built a firm relationship with McQueen's creative director Sarah Burton who is responsible for many of her wardrobe hits. As well as her 2011 wedding dress and Prince George's Christening outfit, Kate has worn designs by Burton to the BBC Sports Personality of the Year Awards in December 2012, on her official tour of South East Asia in September 2012 and to the Military Awards in December 2011.
