Florence Welch performs on stage at the 'Chime For Change: The Sound Of Change Live' Concert - June 1, 2013
It was hard to ignore Florence Welch when she burst onto the music scene back in 2009 with her flaming red hair and her powerful vocals. The ethereal musician's debut album Lungs shot to the top of the UK charts and was followed with a mind-blowing performance at the Brit Awards in 2010, where Pre-Raphaelite redhead Flo teamed up with rapper Dizzee Rascal to create catchy mash up You’ve Got The Dirtee Love, sending shivers down our spines as they sang live on stage.
The South-Londoner has a unique 'Lady of Shalott meets Ophelia style' and her vintage looks and whimsical pieces, have paved her way into the hearts of many designers.
2011 saw Florence embark on her first tour, dressed solely in custom made creations by Gucci. The partnership looks set to continue as the singer and Gucci's Creative Director Frida Giannini paired up for a second time for Florence's recent world tour.
The fashion industry’s musical darling has since worked with legendary designer Karl Lagerfield who shot her for the cover of Japanese Vogue styled in a scarlet Chinoiserie tux jacket and mannish ensemble by Ralph Lauren. In fact, the duo got on so well the first time around that they joined forces once again to shoot Florence’s Shake It Out album cover. Flo then returned the favour and performed on the Chanel runway at Paris Fashion Week.
