The Topshop models just hit the runway at London Fashion Week sporting a city-cool collection of leather and faux fur with effortlessly chic make-up to match.
The girls had black kohl-rimmed eyes, neutral lips and most importantly delicously dewy skin - they looked like the low-maintenance hipsters you see propping up a bar in Dalston.
We headed to Topshop HQ to get the inside scoop on how the looks were developed earlier this week. Topshop Beauty Consultant Hannah Murray says the inspiration for the look was Margot Tenenbaum.
'She’s the rebellious school girl, with attitude,' she says. 'There’s a bit of darkness about her but she’s still beautiful with an air of superiority, all the girls want to be her.
'The look is reminiscent of those cool girls at school its effortless, simple lived in but still quite tough.'
The focus of the look was two new lines of products Topshop's launching for Autumn Winter, including the brand's FIRST EVER foundation. “Skin is effortlessly beautiful, creamy and raw,' says Hannah. 'It’s a youthful, easy skin that isn’t over worked, its not juicy or luminous, its just flawless.”
Available in September, the foundation comes in four shades that are adaptable to different skin tones. Its water-based and comes with two primers (one silicone and one water-based), a four-colour concealer palette and a liquid concealer which sticks to your face like glue. Promise.
In addition to the skin line - Topshop's ditching matte for glossy, bringing out a range of unusual cheek gels. The gels come in a range of shades from berry to coral and they're very very sheer (despite looking terrifyingly bright). You can layer them up to get a high-shine plastic finish or dab on for subtle colour and reflectivity.
Available in September, Hannah used two of the colours from the range for the show. 'I'm using a brown red cheek gel slightly lower down from the apples of the cheeks,' says Hannah. 'Then neon red on the centre to give a healthy outdoorsy flush.'
The cheek gels will be accompanied by matching nail varnishes and glossy lip balms (we love) when they hit shelves in the Autumn. The two make-up ranges are a shift in direction for Topshop who normally bring out collections based around a look - featuring a complimentary mascara, eyeliner, blusher etc.
The new additions to the brand's beauty line were joined in the 15 kits prepared for make-up artists at the AW14 show with one of every product from the Topshop line. (The make-up artists got to keep them - we're not jealous at all.) Shout out to college student Oliver who made them.
