What could be better than getting a dose of Mexican flavour without having to cough up the air fare? That's exactly what Skylounge has treated us to this summer, transforming their rooftop bar in Tower Hill into Cuervo’s Cantina...
Grazia Daily sampled the delights this week, stepping from the hotel lift straight into a little piece of Mexico on the outdoor terrace. A themed bar sits at one end, covered in colourful decorations with friendly staff channelling the 'arriba' vibe. Ok, so we might not have the scorching sunshine a la North America but the jugs of Sangria quickly warmed us up. And did we mention the stunning views across the City?
Overlooking the Tower of London, we sipped on fruity Jose Cuervo cocktails (hello tequila) and nibbled on the perfect pre-party food - think taquitos, fajitas and nachos covered in lashings of guacamole. Totally authentic and delicious - yes please! Add to this a backdrop of authentic music from the Gypsy Kings and we were ready to crack out our sombreros.
The summer residency is already in full-swing and we recommend getting down there sharpish to make the most of the summer evenings to come. It certainly makes a welcome change from the average Friday night spent in a stuffy pub. Open from 4pm until 10pm every day, tables are available on a first come first served basis so make sure you get down early to reserve a prime spot.
