Fancy a Christmas cocktail? We’ve asked our friends at hip and happening blog Barchick to track down some of the UK’s best bars serving drinks to get you in the yuletide spirit, and we’ll be bringing you a few of them over the next week. This cocktail recipe today comes from Union Street Cafe, Gordon Ramsay’s latest venture that opened in October.
Everyone loves Eggnog at this time of year, (and if you've never tried one you should really start now!) and this is an easy modern twist on Aunties favourite, made with Rekorderlig Winter Cider. Warming, retro and properly festive.
How To Make It:
Mix dark rum, sweet sherry, sugar syrup, dashes of Angostura bitters, 1 egg and hot Rekorderlig Winter Cider together in a saucepan and add whisky and one egg to it. When this is all mixed together and at a suitably warm temperature, grab a big tankard (glass mug) and pour it in. Dust it with some cinnamon and stick in a candy cane if you’ve got one lying about. Now, don your cheesiest Christmas jumper, wrap some tinsel round your neck and pop on a pair of antlers - down the hatch chaps!
