You know us Grazia girls like to spot a trend or two, so here’s one with a properly festive feel; candy cane cocktails. Candy canes – those traditional Christmas sweets popular in the States - have been around for yonks, but now just recently we’re starting to find them being used in puddings and drinks. Which is why the ‘Candy Caned’ cocktail, currently being served up at INK LDN, has caught our eye.
INK LDN is Professor Green’s new club in the heart of the West End. Professor G teamed up with the Calabrese brothers (of hip cocktail hangout the Hoxton Pony fame) to create a club inspired by London tattoo parlours that, they hope, has a real “East End vibe’.
If you’re not in London’s Soho this Christmas you’re in luck because Candy Caned is also incredibly easy to make at home, and INK LDN has kindly given us the recipe here. Made with rum and flavoured with homemade cinnamon and clove syrup, it is the perfect blend of sugar and spice. Enjoy!
35ml Spiced Rum
25ml Cinnamon & Clove Syrup
20ml Lemon Juice
15ml Red Wine
10ml Egg White
Candy Cane to Garnish
Shake and strain, serve in a rocks glass, layer red wine over the top
