It’s Cocktail O’Clock: Fresh and Min’Tea Anyone?

19 December 2013 by

Fancy a Christmas cocktail? We’ve asked our friends at hip and happening blog Barchick to track down some of the UK’s best bars serving drinks to get you in the festive spirit, and we’ll be bringing you a few of them over the next week. This recipe comes from a bar called Callooh Callay. Hidden on a cobbled side street it boasts some of the best cocktails in London and is Narnia-esque in theme. Enter the first bar and then step through a Victorian wardrobe, where you find yourself in a backroom containing an enormous red and white striped throne. Play your cards right and you could be one of the chosen few invited up to the secret Jubjub Bar upstairs. Callooh's signature drink is called Fresh & Min’Tea and Barchick have picked this one because, they say, ‘While most hot wintery cocktails are brown and boozy, this is bright, refreshing and sweet, with a nice kick of whisky. It’s also simple to make and perfect for that wintry afternoon chill session!’

To Make Fresh & Min’Tea

Pour 40ml Caol Ila Whisky into a tea cup, add 12 mint springs and 12ml sugar syrup before topping with hot water. Leave to stew for a couple of minutes, add cold water if required and serve!
