It’s Wool Week! And it's also the perfect time of year to start snuggling up with cashmeres, tartans and tweeds.
Cara has been showing us how to do it in this Christopher Raeburn bomber jacket. It was created by a hand-picked design student, especially for the brand as part of the Wool School initiative for Wool Week (a double venture that celebrates both the fabulous fabric and young design talent). Daisy Lowe meanwhile was spotted at one of the free knitting classes at John Lewis (taking place in London and Edinburgh), wrapped up in her finest cable-knit threads.
The countrywide celebrations are to promote the ethical trade of wool and to support independent suppliers - certainly a worthy cause we think - and def worth celebrating with some knitting!
Since the Scottish Fashion awards where we rubbed shoulders with the likes of wonderboy Christopher Kane, as well as Victoria Beckham's appearance in a tartan kilt, not to mention the grunge and plaid visible at all the shows for Spring Summer 14, we've been plaid crazy. There's no better time than now to don your finest woollen threads from Cara's Raeburn bomber to Stella McCartney's mohair tartan handbags, tweed skirts and little angora tees. Baaaaaahh-rilliant.
We'll be celebrating from now until the 20th October (and until May probably, thanks to the British weather) - join us in your winter woolens and check out our gallery above. We love some retail therapy legitimised by a good cause!
