The front rows of couture require as luxurious outfits as you’ll see on the runways – no wardrobe stone is left unturned as the fashion eds pour into Paris and unpack their fanciest garb. With a trunk of next season’s clothes in tow, plus some great pieces to last out the summer, the likes of Miroslava Duma, Elena Perinova, Carine Roitfled and Caroline Issa have been turning the city’s sidewalks into a veritable roadside runway. However, it's not all ballgowns and satin gloves: a wildcard has been unleashed into the fashion landscape in the form of the sneaker. With a catwalk seal of approval from Dior and Chanel, the not-so-humble trainer has padded onto the scene and opened the gates for genuine (not expensive!) sports-wear versions, too.
Other new trends have of course taken place, for example: with pink still high on the colour agenda for the following six months (and beyond) it’s good to see the crew mixing up the colour palette. You’ll now find candy shades paired up with acid greens or being blocked into red and black, with extreme prints. Scroll down for what we’ve pinpointed on the street of Couture Fashion Week…
