So for all you NFL fans gearing up for a late night shindig tonight (the game will start at 11.30pm this evening), we thought we’d come up with some fun costume inspiration to get you into the mood.
First up, who could forget Madonna’s medley Superbowl appearance back in 2012? Teaming up with Nicki Minaj, Queen Maj’s centurion inspired costume was tailored by Riccardo Tisci at Givenchy. From a full-on gold headdress to her gold cheerleader pom poms, Madonna’s look was both memorable and fashion forward.
Back in the day it was another blonde making halftime waves as Britney Spears joined a stellar line-up including Aerosmith and erstwhile boyfriend Justin Timberlake for halftime in 2001. Brit’s look was more football-orientated with a sporty lace up top and a numbered jersey keeping to the theme. And of course we couldn’t fail to mention Bey’s outing with her girls for Superbowl 2013 – all were clad in saucy black looks, Beyonce’s designed by Rubin Singer.
