Make Like Selena Gomez And Kristen Stewart By Getting Quilted: Shopping Fix

13 August 2013

You should definitely be reaching for your quilts this Autumn Winter - and no, we're not talking about bedding. In fact, it's the luxurious quilted trend that has transformed comfort into chic and continues to pop up on A-listers across the globe.

The quilted detail first appeared on leather jackets in a motocross stylee as championed by Kristen Stewart and Miranda Kerr. This was translated onto the puffy bomber quilted coats that everyone who was anyone wore last winter. Of course, Chanel has long advocated the look with their abundance of quilted pieces and the likes of Rita Ora and Poppy Delevingne are forever seen sporting Karl Lagerfeld's latest creations.

This season, however, we are more spoilt for choice than ever before as skirts, boots, handbags, tops, jumpers and even nail art have been given a quirky quilt edge. High-street as well as high-end fashion has taken on this simple yet bold design work that embosses prints, rocks leather and makes casual deluxe.

So what do you need to know about getting quilted? Well, it's all about diversity. You’ve got edgy leather zip detail skirts, which look great with simple T-shirt crop tops. Cassie took the trend one step further by upping her street-glam wardrobe courtesy in a pair of black statement trousers. But be sure not to over-do the detail - as the singer proves, it speaks volumes all by itself.
