NYFW FROW & Street Stylers Go Wild For Super Furry Animals: SHOPPING FIX

09 February 2014 by

The temperature on the streets of New York City currently sits at a teeth-chattering -5°, but that hasn’t stopped fashion week’s most dedicated from A.) braving a bare leg and B.) wearing sandals. Some could say we’re in the midst fashion’s silliest season, but there is one warm-wardrobe faction that the FROW and street stylers have conceded to, and it’s that of the cosy coat. Most specifically the crazy, shaggy, furry beast-like versions that make you forget about your goosepimpled legs and make a grand entrance.

Such wild outerwear has been popular for a few winters in a row, but this time around the creations are wackier. Faux fur has even found it’s way onto skirts, tops, bags and barmy accessories a-plenty. Shearling-shaggy clutch bags, multicoloured tippets and giant feathered earmuffs are now regular but alternative methods for keeping snug.

Susie Lau of Style Bubble has highlighted a new and favourite label of GraziaDaily, Shrimps: they specialise in super-luxe, super-bright faux fur coats and bags, with this particular orange/pink colourway now sold out at many retailers. Olivia Palermo and other FROWers including Arielle Nachmani and Kelly Framel have joined the hug-in-a-mug club, too.
