Ever since Marc Jacobs unveiled his Autumn Winter 2014 collection during New York Fashion Week, we've been imagining ourselves in the gorgeous palette that hit the catwalk: Beige.
But these aren't just any beiges. Oh no. There's dusky mink, crème anglaise, silver beech, chocolate milk. They are, in fact, the New Nudes. And they are not vanilla. They're magnetic.
MJ's louche shapes and slinky ribbed knits, low neck-lines and low slung flares - spoke of a new woman. A tanned-skinned, caramel-cloaked Lauren Bacall or Jessica Lange from the 70s, whipped with a '90s Kate Moss and white eyeshadow for an icy modern edge. It's not just clothes either - according to Into The Gloss, New York based fashion fans are already asking their technicians for these frosted hair tones whilst Nars' new matte beiges are the new seasons bronze and peach skin tones.

François Nars, Founder & Creative Director of, naturally, Nars was the lead artist on the show. He described this new beauty up as 'really inspired by the collection, which is very "matte." There's nothing too silky and I wanted that to translate to the makeup. The models look like mannequins. The eyelid is a pale neutral grey and we made it look bigger by foregoing mascara. The lips have a touch of frosted metallic silver. We used a lot of powder for a matte, porcelain finish.' This is no retro chalky makeup look, there's luminous (though matte) skin and the blonde brows recall Miley Cyrus's bleached brow from the cover of W magazine - they're totally contemporary.
Both the wig looks and the clothing influences can already be seen on the street and we've been scouring the stores for the perfectly creamy ribbed knit and taupe halter-neck. Click through our world of nudes below and you'll need no more reasons to embrace this shade.
