Jumpsuits On The Red Carpet: How Beyonce, Jennifer Lawrence & More Nailed The Look

The jumpsuit has returned! And we're not talking just to the catwalk either, in the last month more than five A-listers took to the red carpet in all-in-ones in favour of a floor-sweeping gown! In fact on the same night Beyonce stepped out at the Grammy Awards in an Osman monochrome number in L.A., Sarah Jessica Parker wowed the London crowds in a slinky black Elie Saab jumpsuit at the BAFTAs!

And they're not alone, everyone from Naomi Campbell to Jennifer Lopez have been championing the jumpsuit rather than dresses on the red carpet recently, with two key looks emerging, in one corner there's the uber glam, 'cocktail jumpsuit', check out Lena Dunham and Jennifer Lawrence (in the gallery above), Lena's monochrome, satin Valentino number, complete with bow detail at the back, can totally hold its own against any evening frock, as could Jennifer Lawrence's pre-fall 2013 Stella McCartney silk jumpsuit, nipped in at the waist, it's also a sexy strapless creation!

But the new season's jumpsuits aren't all fitted and figure hugging, just take a look at Bond Girl, French actress, Berenice Marlohe's loosely tailored white Escada all-in-one, just like Jennifer Lopez and Louise Roe, she's dressed-up a more relaxed number with polished hair and make-up, and red-carpet-worthy accessories.

And we can totally see the appeal, besides being a fresh change from frocks, jumpsuits are a great way to embrace spring/summer 13's tailored mood. Here are our easy peasy steps to pulling off jumpsuits after dark...

1. Stand tall- towering heels are essential for looking long and lean in all-in-ones.

2. Keep layers tailored- a draping cardigan will kill a jumpsuit look instantly! Instead wear yours with a fitted crop jacket or boyfriend blazer.

3. Bring on the bling- ensure your jumpsuit holds its own against even the sparkliest of cocktail dresses by teaming it with a stand-out necklace or earrings, or for a spring/summer '13 twist try a head-turning cuff worn on each wrist.
