Want to have bags of fun this weekend? Then you’ll need a fun bag!
Can your bag do THIS?! [ASP]
Novelty accessorising is no stranger to the runway but it would seem that arm candy is increasing it’s bonkers-factor to cater for an audience of girls who want their handbag to do more than adequately hold things. They’re icebreakers, personality makers, outfit transformers… you see, these silly bags are actually made of quite serious stuff.
Diane Kruger clocks in to Charlotte Olympia's kooky evening bags, while street-snapped favourite Natalie Joos is known for her wardrobe of kooky vintage finds [Rex, ASP]
Charlotte Olympia’s kitsch-cool collections have been toted by the chicest girls in the globe – Diane Kruger for starters – while Olympia le Tan’s embroidered book-cover clutches have found their way onto many a red carpet. Fendi’s series of bag bugs and peek-a-boo creatures have Front Row Favourite stamped all over them. LFW designer Ashley Williams’ cuddly toy grab’ems have earned cult status and a new label called Edie Parker is causing waves. It’s another expensive one, yes, but the vintage-look acrylic handmade craftwork is really something special. Shoppers are willing to pay top dollar for the most defining of pieces, but you can also pick up some hilar handbag action on the high street and from mid labels, too. Just perf for injecting an individual slant to the most standard of party ensembles, and with surprising potential for re-wear thanks to next season's playful mood.
