In this week's issue of Grazia our main fashion shoot focuses on the London collections, ahead of London Fashion Week. Gemma Hayward, Senior Fashion Editor, styled the editorial and reveals her inspiration...
'Last September, on the catwalks of London Fashion Week there was a modern tale to tell. Clean lines and graphic prints prevailed, so I used this as inspiration and the starting point for Grazia’s London Collections Spring/Summer 2014 fashion shoot.
Christopher Kane’s white boxy dress sits perfectly against the vivid block colours of Roksanda Ilinic’s pleated creation - and can we take a moment to marvel in the wonder of those Nicolas Kirkwood shoes?. Mary Katranzou’s neoprene printed two piece chimes nicely with Fashion East’s Claire Barrow’s painted plastic mac and Thomas Tait's sporty wears are a fitting match with Erdem's transparent bomber jacket.
When creating the ‘look’ with the glam team we decided that hair was to be kept simple with a soft texture, which could be tweaked for each shot. Skin was given a fresh, dewy finish with varying neutral tones on the lips.
The London apartment where the shoot was based was stark, white and minimal with a sprinkling of designer furniture in the same vein. Everything had its place – firmly behind a cupboard door! It was the perfect modern backdrop to best show off our pick of the current season.'
