Just when you thought you couldn't squeeze another fabulous look onto the Spring Summer 2014 catwalks after a month of fashion weeking, here come the brides. Bridal Fashion Week is underway in New York with the biggest wedding dress designers showcasing the prettiest of confections. Alice Temperley was all about the romantic princesses, Badgley Mischka went retro while Vera Wang was in the pink. Click through all of the best looks in the gallery above and for a break down of the top 10 trends, keep scrolling...

1. IN THE PINK

The most shocking moment of Bridal Fashion Week came courtesy of Vera Wang who presented an all-pink collection. We love! 'Think pink and the irony of pink and all those shades for winter,' Wang told WWD backstage after her show. Indeed, pink wedding dresses are becoming more and more popular, with A-list types like Gwen Stefani and Jessica Biel opting for blush-toned frocks. Wang offered up a range of shades to choose from, including coral and peony. 'Look how flattering is it on all skin types,' Wang said and we have to agree.

2. FLORAL DELIGHTS

Of course floral appliqués are a traditional wedding dress trend and they came in a variety of shapes and sizes this season. At Marchesa, they cascaded down frothy chiffon while at Badgley Mischka, subtle flourishes adorned the skirts. But at Vera Wang, they were positively blooming right across the waist in pink plumes.

3. BRIDAL BEADING

Mark Badgley and James Mischka looked to the French Riviera in the '30s so it was all glitzy glamour on the Badgley Mischka catwalk. Think ornate embroidery and Art Deco patterns with beaded fringing and layers of sheer chiffon. Also at Monique Lhuillier, gowns had a romantic, heirloom quality, with floral, vine and lattice motifs worked in rich embroideries and delicate beadwork. 'It’s opulence with a light touch,' Lhuillier told WWD.

4. VA-VA-VOOM VOLUME

Bridal Fashion Week wouldn't be the same without a parade of voluminous gowns and we adore the ruffled silhouettes at Monique Lhuillier. Marchesa treated us to wide skirts accented by ruffled tiers and Badgley Mischka presented dresses with tiers of frothy frou-frou.

5. SLEEVE-SPIRATION

Ever since Kate Middleton wore THAT Alexander McQueen wedding dress (you may have seen it?), it's been all about the sleeves. And this season, we got plenty of sleeve-spiration courtesy of Monique Lhuillier where there were gorgeous capped sleeves made of white lace as well as full-length versions covered in twinkling embellishments and super-feminine patterns leading into sweetheart necklines.

The gorgeous sleeves kept on coming at Marchesa to balance out the mermaid silhouettes. As well as the familiar cap sleeves, there were also draped designs with delicate layers of lace hanging from the shoulders.

6. SUPER SLEEK

If you're not into frothy tulle, Badgley Mischka provided form-fitting creations glammed up by subtle twinkling embellishments or lace elements. As well as princess-tastic pink frocks at Vera Wang, we saw some sleekier varieties with ruching on the bodice to add interest. And at Monique Lhuillier, a simple strapless gown stayed true to the super-feminine theme with head-to-toe beading.

7. LITTLE MERMAIDS

As ever, there were more than a few mermaid-esque options with curve-hugging creations transforming into frothy delights at the knee. We love the Marchesa number that had tulle on the neckline to match the tulle on the hemline.

8. SHORT AND SWEET

Don't go thinking you have to go full-length on your Big Day. Both Monique Lhuillier and Marchesa presented thigh-high frocks, with lacy skater-style skirts for a flirty and fun bride to slinky and sleek designs for a sexier finish. Marchesa's short numbers were none the less frothy, with skirts covered in layers of tulle.
