☆ New York Fashion Week ☆
Fashion month kicked off with New York where we saw pencil skirts paired with sweaters, deep Vs, rounded shoulders, twisted strips of fabric and leather sweaters.
1. Deep V
Necklines are going waaay down for A/W 13/14. To keep it decent, make sure our legs are kept under cover.
2. Yves Klein Blue
Deeply saturated blue was the standout shade of New York Fashion Week. The electric colour amped up winter plaids and tweeds.
3. Round Shoulders
American footballer shoulders meet with mid-century couture patterns to make for this season's new graphic silhouette.
4. The new suit
Ditch your trousers and jackets because the new modern suit is all about the matching pencil skirt and sweater.

☆ London Fashion Week ☆
At London we saw psychedelic tribal make up at Vivienne Westwood, vinyl fabrics at Roksanda Ilincic and camouflage-print at Christopher Kane.
5. Hideous Kinky
Vinyl, PVC and latex ramped up the sex factor this season. From second-skin pencil skirts to shiny flasher macs, erotic style is where it's at.

6. Animal Magic
Leopard stalked LFW catwalks. Break it up with printed separates or wear head to toe for traffic-stopping style.

7. Plaid Party
Classic tartans got a pretty twist with pastel shades and snappy cuts. Go all the way with a two-piece or try a soft-launch statement jacket.
8. Dirndl Skirts
Voluminous dirndl skirts ramped up the femininity this season. Opt for a style that sits on the hips with low pockets to nail the grunge-meets-'50s look.

☆ Milan Fashion Week ☆
Over in Milan things got opulent with gold, leather and winter lace. Oh how we loved the jewelled crowns at Dolce & Gabbana and the clumpy shoes at Jil Sander.
9. Go for Gold
This was the colour of the week seen at Dolce, Max Mara, Just Cavalli, Prada and Marni. Well it is super-opulent Milan after all.

10. Hell for leather
Tap into the mood for fetish and luxe skins by wearing leather. Nobody does it better than Milan's foremost designers. It was seen at Jil Sander, Fendi, Prada and Sportmax.
11. Pinks and Reds
All the pinks from plum to raspberry, and the reds from cherry to ruby, will lend the forthcoming autumn a warm glow.
12. Tartans
The spirit of punk reigned everywhere from Versace to Moschino and, in particular, that movement's love affair with tartans ruled: get ahead and by a kilt now.

☆ Paris Fashion Week ☆
Over in Paris we had sweet sleeps and cami-knickers with what looked like their boyfriends' oversized coats and furs thrown over the top at Louis Vuitton and Warhol's early work printed, painted and embroidered onto clothes at Dior. The key trends to emerge from Paree are feathers, dotty prints and oversized coats.
13. Feathered friends
Ostrich and marabou tendrils in all shades of the rainbow add a capricious note to several hit collections. Seen at Alexander McQueen, Louis Vuitton, Dries Van Noten and Moncler Gamme Rouge.
14. Upsize your coat
Making a big statement, the new season's scaled-up coats feature a broad, dropped shoulder and roomy cut. Cosy.

15. Gone dotty
Classic polka spots were given a new spin with sheerly-there layers at Chloé and were pretty in pink at Miu Miu...
