Style Hunter Meets Model & Fashion Blogger Sara Brajovic

Paris-born London-based model and blogger Sara Brajovic caught our eye as the newest addition to the London Fashion Week front row crew.  When Style Hunter heard that her wardrobe was chock-full with incredible designer buys and brilliantly-sourced high street pieces, we had to know more. Upon raiding, we weren’t disappointed…

GraziaDaily: Spending so much time in Paris, would you say your look is Parisian?

Sara Brajovic: I was born in Paris and lived there pretty much all of my life with a bit of Switzerland, NY and London thrown in between. Each new city you visit or live in opens up a new chapter in fashion exploration… But I am very much attached to Paris.

GraziaDaily: Who are your favourite labels for spring/summer 2013 and why?

Sara Brajovic: Oh so many! Erdem - so fairylike and whimsical. The materials, the play on transparency and the colour palette.  Valentino and Pucci as well for the same reasons, loving the pure white parts of these collections. I am a big fan of Altuzarra- I like how he makes La Parisenne become a New Yorker and vice versa.

GraziaDaily: Do you have any style rules that you stick to? Anything you’d never wear?

Sara Brajovic: I try not to live my life by  rules. Comfort is very important and also that the pieces are relevant now and in 10, 20 or 30 years to come. Timeless in fact. Never wear? Probably something that has been over exposed by the street style snaps or the ‘It’ thing to wear any given season.

GraziaDaily: Who influences your style?

Sara Brajovic: Katherine Hepburn. I like women who mix masculine looks together. So even people like Rihanna aren’t afraid to pull off something mannish will inspire me.

GraziaDaily: Do you ever fall so in love with items on a shoot that you go out and buy them straight away?

Sara Brajovic: Jumpsuits – always jumpsuits! I don’t like short skirts, so this longer length is a weakness of mine.

GraziaDaily: You do a lot of pre-loved designer shopping, what are your top tips?

Sara Brajovic: I’m happy to buy something that’s completely the wrong size and have it altered to fit. You get to pick up a designer piece for a fraction of the price and it’s not that tricky once you find a tailor. The last thing I bought was a Marni dress two sizes too big and it was way too long. Now it’s a little mini and I love it!

GraziaDaily: Are you an impulsive buyer?

Sara Brajovic: Well, I recently saw two pairs of shoes on Style.com and bought them straight away….

GraziaDaily:Do you have a failsafe item in your wardrobe?

Sara Brajovic: I always fall back on my Alexander McQueen high-waisted toreador trousers or Chanel masculine wide-legged black trousers. They’re comfortable and adaptable – you can dress them however you want.
