New York Fashion Week Street Style: On Wednesdays We Wear Pink

12 February 2014 by

Please excuse the Mean Girls reference - we just couldn't help ourselves. There's been a torrent of pink looks to rival even our favourite clique's fave outfits at NYFW this year. From fluffy rose coats to neon bright hats and from chic skirts to bold pink panels, everyone's come over all Barbie. It isn't all Sugar Plum Fairy sweetness though, the fashpack are giving the most sickly of colours an edgy makeover by teaming it with cool textures, acid yellows and daring patterns.

On Wednesdays, we wear pink

Want to try the look at home, but scared you're going to look like an oversized toddler? Opt for a subued rose tone or a bold paintbox pink rather than a Baby Spice vibe. This pale, pale satin skirt from Stella McCartney is subtle enough to wear in the office and teamed with this Jil Sander coat will only turn heads in the best possible way. Meanwhile, braver souls will love this Dolce & Gabbana shift dress which would look as great with tights and chunky brogues as it would with nude legs and strappy stilettos.

'Sicilia' shift dress - Dolce & Gabbana, £960
Kravitz satin-twill wrap-effect skirt - Stella McCartney, £420
Raipur cotton-gabardine coat - Jil Sander, £1,520
