Street Style At 2013 Coachella Festival: Crop Tops, Grunge & Summer Black Are Trending

15 April 2013 by

Believe or not, Coachella festival is actually a music event first (and then a major fashion event second). It'd be easy to assume otherwise thanks to the Californian catwalk show that this annual affair now produces.

It's basically the unofficial start to summer style and the festival season. For those of you who haven’t attended fashion week Coachella, it’s super-hot in the day; so the best-dressed mavens only start to come alive in the late afternoon and evening, giving them all day to prepare some suitably festi-ready ensembles. No wonder they look so good!

Of course, there’s fashion inspiration a-go-go thanks to the A-list likes of Alexa Chung, Diane Kruger and Kate Bosworth descending onto the VVVIP areas, but Grazia’s Style Hunter was covered every inch of dusty ground, to report back the latest and greatest new festival trends.

Some looks have been going strong year after year – boho springs to mind – but fortunately, we witnessed a bevy of beauties happy to leave hippy in the ‘70s and channel some more unexpected looks. Minimalist denim? Why not? How about grunge á la Phillip Lim spring summer 2013? It’s a thumbs up from us.

Or maybe you’d finally like to switch up those ubiquitous denim shorts for something sportier? Well then, it sounds like you could do with scrolling through our gallery for some inspiration. We can’t guarantee all of the 30 outfits pored over here will see you right in a muddy Glasto field at night, but you could at least look fab-u-lous upon arrival!

P.S. can you spot Alexa in the street style line up?
