Sarah Jessica Parker's Fashion Evolution
Although our screens are no longer graced with our favourite Sex and the City girls, the show’s star Sarah Jessica Parker (AKA Carrie Bradshaw) is far from forgotten.
As one of the trendiest ladies on the red carpet, it’s safe to say that SJP is a true style-setting fashionista who is here to stay.
In classic Carrie fashion, Mrs Parker has wowed us with some beautiful gowns and shocked with some daring choices over the past few years - anyone remember the garden she wore on her head at the SATC premiere? It’s ingrained on our fashion memory.
The queen of glam ditched the perm and legwarmers circa 1995 and is instead often spotted sporting Oscar de la Renta, Chanel and her old faithful, Alexander McQueen - just a few of her default designers.
SJP has learnt from youthful fashion faux pas and has mastered the red carpet, looking stunning in Elie Saab at the BAFTA Awards, rocking Louis Vuitton at an LV runway show and dazzling in Chanel at the Haute Couture collection 2012.
It’s common knowledge that she loves nothing more than rounding off an outfit with an extravagant headpiece and her go-to hat designer, Philip Treacy, is the man to thank for many of these creations. The satellite-dish hat that she wore to the VRC Oaks Club Ladies Luncheon in Melbourn certainly turned a few heads - although she must have had trouble turning her own whilst wearing it. Thankfully, attention was diverted by her Chanel Couture dress.
Gone are SJP’s perm-tastic, midriff bearing days, but that doesn’t mean we’re not allowed to have a peek or two. Take a look through the gallery to see the evolution of the designer daredevil.
