Antonio Berardi's Fashion Evolution
The highly structured hourglass-shaped mini dresses with corsetry details on the outside, and sometimes giant padded cage-like hips are a modern classic. Antonio Berardi is favoured by fashion forward A listers Gwyneth Paltrow, Victoria Beckham and Lady Gaga. He’s also famous for his towering, gravity-defying no-heel high heels, a papparazi magnet of a shoe.
Antonio Berardi was born in suburban England to a Sicillian family. It's been said that his Roman Catholic childhood and his father's Italian macho yet fastidious approach to clothes (he even took little Antonio to Saville Row for fittings as a child) that has influenced his design approach. Its there in his love of black lace, of blood red leather, as well as the pure white outfits which all point to an idealised view of women's sexuality - not that his customers seem to have any complaints about that.
