Vanessa Hudgens's Fashion Evolution
She’s come a long way from her High School Musical days, and it isn’t just movie roles which have amped up a gear for brunette beauty Vanessa Hudgens. The actress/singer/Zac Efron’s former squeeze has evolved into more risque movie roles - a-la Spring Breakers - as well as an array of pick-your-jaw-up-off-the-floor worthy attire, most notably as she promotes her new film, The Frozen Ground. As she hits red carpets around the world, from UK to Italy, alongside co-star Nicholas Cage, she's been showing off some serious sartorial delights.
We traditionally know VG for her annual hippe-esque boho Coachella numbers, usually featuring some fringing, paisley and crop tops, so we squealed with joy when Vanessa followed in fellow Spring Breaker Selina Gomez’s fashion footsteps. Just like Selena, Vanessa is ditching her Disney cuteness and choosing a much more sophisticated and fash-tastic working wardrobe, complete with the most enviable of pins.
The change came about circa 2009/2010, in between film roles in Bandslam and Beastly - a re-telling of the fairytale Beauty and the Beast set in modern-day New York City from the view of the beast. Now that she's touring the premiere circuit with Nicholas Cage, Hudgens has pulled out all the style stops. One of our fave ensemble's thus far? A green sequin hooded jumpsuit by Diane Von Furstenberg which she wore to the 2013 Ischia Global Film Festival Awards dinner this past the weekend. The elegantly covered-up but glitzy one-piece is as age appropriate as it is sweet.
Have a gander through the evolution of Miss Hudgen's fashion prowess.
