kate moss's Fashion Evolution
Born and bred in Croydon, Kate Moss was first discovered at 14 years old as she stepped off a plane from the Bahamas. Sounds dreamy, right? And the rest of the supermodel's career has been as equally as jaw-dropping.
It wasn’t until the British model hit 18, when she became the face of Calvin Klein and shot a campaign in nothing but her underwear, that the world really began to take notice of the angelic-faced model.
Since then the British beauty has walked hundreds of shows at fashion weeks around the world, alongside fronting some of the most prestigious brands’ campaigns, such as Parisian fashion houses Chanel and Christian Dior, as well as sticking by British brands like Burberry and many, many more.
Kate doesn't just have the most incredible cheekbones in the biz. In 2007, she teamed up with Topshop to design her own clothing range and the collaboration continued for a whooping fourteen collections. In 2012, she released The Kate Moss Book - a photographic retrospective curated by the supermodel herself and featuring her favourite modelling moments.
During her career, she's championed a fair few trends too. Ever wondered who started that boho chic, festival-cool trend, getting us into teeny denim shorts and floaty white tees? Yup, it was Miss Moss. She's also dated her fair share of eligible men, most memorably Hollywood dreamboat Johnny Depp. In 2002, Kate gave birth to her first child with Dazed & Confused editor Jefferson Hack, a daughter called Lila Grace. The pair split in 2004 but have an amicable relationship, with Hack even attending Kate's festival extravaganza wedding when got hitched to The Kill’s guitarist Jamie Hince in July 2011. Speaking of her wedding day, Kate looked resplendent in a John Galliano gown inspired by the classic 1920s novel, The Great Gatsby.
Since becoming a married woman, Kate has continued to notch up the campaigns, from Mango to Rag & Bone. To see her greatest style hits, take a trip through the gallery above...
